Step-by-Step: Prospecting on Google Maps

Step 1: Define Your Search Query

Open Google Maps and search for your target industry + city. Examples: "metalworking factories São Paulo", "dental clinics Curitiba", "car dealerships Porto Alegre." Google displays all matching businesses on the map with name, address, phone, and rating.

Step 2: Filter by Qualification Criteria

Apply quick filters to identify established businesses: 3.5+ star rating, 20+ reviews, photos present, website listed, and business hours defined. Businesses missing most of these are likely too informal or inactive to be worth pursuing.

Step 3: Collect Contact Data

For each qualified prospect, collect: business name, address, phone number (often the owner's WhatsApp in Brazilian SMBs), website URL, and Google rating.

Step 4: Find the Decision-Maker

Google Maps gives you the business, not the buyer. For each prospect, search the company on LinkedIn for the owner/director, check the website's "About" page, or look up the registered representative via CNPJ on the Receita Federal website.
